Day 17: Exploring Phillip Island

Cactus Garden at Koala Conservation Centre

In the morning, we visited the Cactus Garden at the Koala Conservation Centre on Phillip Island. This garden has the largest cactus plantation in Australia and we were able to see cacti in different shapes and colors. We walked around the garden and enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere. My girlfriend said, “I’ve never seen so many types of cacti before, they are really amazing.”

Wine Tasting at Potters Brewery

Next, we went to the Potters Brewery, where we visited the vineyards and tasted local wines. The brewery has picturesque scenery that captivated us. The price was approximately AUD 25 per person. My girlfriend enjoyed the atmosphere and said, “We should try more local wines, so we can better understand Australian wine culture.”

Lunch at the Brewery Restaurant

At the Potters Brewery’s restaurant, we enjoyed a delicious lunch. We had an Italian pizza with local red wine. The price was approximately AUD 35 per person. My girlfriend said, “This meal was really delicious, especially the red wine which had a rich taste.”

Beach Vacation

In the afternoon, we went to Smiths Beach on Phillip Island to enjoy the sun, sand, and sea. We sunbathed, swam, and played with the sand on the beach. My girlfriend said while sunbathing, “This beach is really beautiful, we should stay here longer and enjoy this beautiful beach.”

Seafood Feast for Dinner

At night, we had a sumptuous seafood feast at a restaurant called “Phillip Island Seafood”. The price was approximately AUD 50 per person. This restaurant serves fresh seafood, such as crabs, shrimps, and fish. We shared a seafood platter and my girlfriend praised the food, “The seafood here is very fresh and delicious.”
